"Beginnings......"
Captain Skyler & Ensign  Sera  Teryn
 
   
 
Heading back to her office, Skyler realized that  she had never had to worry 
about making so many arrangements for anyone before.  Somehow though it didn't 
seem to bother her. Since her sister left with her  niece, and Georgia was 
off in medical school, having Tavi around made life more  pleasant. Now if I 
could only find someone for me, not that it's that  important. Still it would 
be 
nice. As she walked into her office she  admonished herself for thinking of 
herself. She had Tavi now, what more did she  need?   Walking over  to the 
replicator she made herself a drink and then crossed the room to her  desk. On 
the 
desk were  numerous PADD's. PADD's she still hadn't dealt with since they left 
Izar.  Sitting down she picked up a PADD and started to read it. 
 
 
 
 
 

Tery reached the office and stood outside it for  a moment, gathering 
herself.  That adrenaline had begun to wear off,  leaving only the anxiety that 
came 
with meeting your new boss.  But if  there was one thing Tery was not, that 
was a coward.  She'd faced down  angry Cardassians who wanted to kill her for 
nothing more than being half  Bajoran.  This was a cake walk compared to that.  
So why did it make  her nervous?Youre being silly.   Just push the damned 
button already.  Her own mind chastised her, and  she reached out to touch the 
door chime.  Here goes  nothing...








Hearing the chime Skyler automatically replied  with, "Enter." She didn't 
even look up to see who it was. She was engrossed in  the PADD before her, 
wanting to get through them as soon as possible. She had to  be home in time to 
meet 
Tavi for dinner.  

Hearing the  call from the other side of the door, Tery keyed it open and 
entered just enough  to allow the doors to slide closed behind her.  Before 
her, 
a lovely woman  sat, buried in PADD's.  Tery had to restrain herself from 
saying something  complimentary as it would have been inappropriate at this 
juncture.   "Ensign Sera reporting for duty, Captain Skyler."  She offered, 
unsure 
if  this lady would want the salute or not.  Some did; some hated it. 

Looking up from the PADD,  Skyler saw before her a woman like no other she 
had seen before. My God she  is beautiful. It was all she could do not to 
stare. 
"At ease Ensign. What  can I do for you today?" The woman really didn't want 
to do what she was really  thinking. 

Tery froze.  Those eyes, they caught her and held her captive  in their hazel 
depths.  She had to shake herself mentally lest she say  something else very 
inappropriate.  She blinked several times and  shrugged. You don't really want 
me to answer that, do you?  she  thought as she answered, "Well, I had to 
report to either you or the  Admiral..."  And boy am I glad I chose  you...


"I see. Well, have a  seat and lets find out where you are supposed to 
be....besides with  me......"  Skyler got  the distinct impression that the two 
of  
them were playing mind games with each other and she was actually finding it a 
 bit exhilarating. It had been a while since anyone had. "So Ensign what  
department are you supposed to be in? I'm sorry I don't have your orders right  
in front of me." But I can sure think of what I would like to see in front of  
me.....     

Tery  took the offered chair with a smile.  She could see it in the other 
woman's  eyes, reflections of her own thoughts and feelings.  The smile was  
inviting, meant to be so.  "I'm Engineering."  She offered.   Just a word, and 
I'd 
engineer something really special for  you... 

The tension in the  room was almost thick enough to cut with a knife. It was 
the kind of tension  that brought people together or tore them apart. Looking 
across her desk, Skyler  hoped she was reading thing correctly and that this 
was a good tension. What  I wouldn't give to run my hands through that hair of 
yours or anywhere else for  that matter.... Trying to remain professional 
Skyler looked at the woman,  "Engineering. That would be Lt. K'etrall's 
department. I'm sure you will find it  an interesting place to work. I can 
think of 
something more interesting.... Looking over at  the holographic picture of 
Tavi, 
Skyler took a deep breath. "Tell me about  yourself Ensign. What brings you to 
the  Avalon?"  

What brought her here?   Now there's a long story I'd rather tell you 
somewhere more...  comfortable...  "The challenge mostly.  I wanted to be where 
the  
new discoveries were.  That's here."  She smiled.  Again, the  smile was 
inviting more than just conversation.  Was she reading the  signals correctly?  
Or 
was she seeing what she wanted to see?   Prophets, she hoped the former!

"Well,  you will definitely find things interesting around here that is for 
sure. We  have had our share of experiences from the mundane to bizarre." You 
are  definitely not mundane.... Standing Skyler made her way back to the  
replicator and retrieved two drinks. Walking back to her desk she handed a 
drink  
to the woman sitting there letting her touch linger on her hand. God you feel  
good.... Impulsively Skyler leaned down and gently kissed the woman on her  
lips. "I'm sorry I shouldn't have done that. It was inappropriate of me." But  
it sure felt good.... 

Tery felt a tingle flicker  up her arm and down her spine when their hands 
brushed.  Silently she  wished the woman had not pulled away but knew that 
thought was not  appropriate.  Then Skyler completely floored her!   The kiss 
was  
electric!  It made her want to pull the other woman down and return it ten  
fold!  But should she?

She stood, leaning forward to set her glass on  the desk behind Skyler.  As 
she did, she caught the woman's scent.   The scent of hair cleanser and... her. 
 She looked down into the other's  eyes, grey meeting hazel.  And then she 
answered the apology in the only  way she felt.  She returned the kiss.  Her 
eyes remained locked with  Skyler's as she pulled back and whispered.  "It's 
all 
right.   Really."

Skyler couldn't  believe what she had just done, She was this woman's 
commanding officer, yet  there was something about her that she couldn't 
resist. She 
didn't move from her  spot. They continued to lock eyes, neither one moving 
yet both feeling the same  thing. This  is wrong, I shouldn't be doing this... 
"I'm your  commanding officer, this isn't ........right, yet......" Reaching up 
Skyler  brushed Tery's hair away from her face. She pulled her closer and 
kissed her  again this time more  deeply.  

Tery knew the truth of those words.  It wasn't right according to  Regs, but 
it was... right.  She knew it the second she'd met the  woman.  So when the 
woman kissed her again, deeper, she let herself melt  into that moment, lose 
herself in it.  Her own hand came up and slid gently  over Skyler's cheek and 
behind her neck to hold her gently in the kiss.  I know we shouldn't,  but I 
can't help but feel it.  And she feels it too!  So why can't we  have this 
moment 
at least?


Feeling Tery's lips on  hers sent sensations down her nerves she hadn't felt 
in a long time. Feelings  she thought she had buried, Feeling Tery's body next 
to hers excited Skyler.  "God you feel so....good." She whispered as she 
broke the kiss and looked into  Tery's eyes. There has to be a way to make this 
 
work..... 


The  kiss broken, Tery let her eyes slide open to meet Skyler's again.  She  
liked the feeling of the other woman near her, remembered another who'd made 
her  feel this way... long ago.  That hand came back to brush against that 
cheek  again gently.  "So do you.  I..."  What can I say?   That hand then 
lifted 
from Skyler's cheek to gently tuck a strand of hair behind  her ear.  "I'd 
like the chance to... get to know you... more."  She  intoned softly, her grey 
eyes soft as her tone was.She  knew the Regs as well as the captain before her 
did.  She knew that this  was called Fraternizing and was generally frowned 
upon.  But it wasn't  forbidden.  Maybe they could find a way to make this 
work.  
Why  couldn't they?  She looked deep into Skyler's eyes.  "You feel it too,  
don't you?  The connection."  She asked softly.

Taking Trey's hand in hers,  Skyler gently kissed each finger. "I feel 
something. I know I want to get to  know you better in all ways. There is 
definitely 
a connection." Looking again  into Tery's eyes she quietly stated, "Computer 
lock door, voice activation  Skyler, alpha gamma 24-9" As the computer locked 
the door Skyler pulled Tery  closer and held her tight. 

As Skyler pulled her close, Tery felt her heart  beat faster, harder, 
thundering its exhilaration at the nearness of this  beautiful woman.  She let 
her 
arms slide around the other woman as she was  drawn close.  "Yes..."  Tery 
breathed.  "I knew it the moment I  laid eyes on you..."  She felt herself 
respond 
to the embrace, to the  sensation of Skyler's slim frame poised against hers.  
She could feel the  other's heartbeat timing with hers.  "Can we... explore 
that  connection?"

In response to Tery's question, Skyler began to  gently kiss her lips adding 
more pressure as allowed. Her hands began to roam  over the woman's body, 
feeling every curve and muscle under the drab uniform.  Finding the zipper in 
the 
back she slowly started to undo it as she moved to  kiss her neck moving to 
the hollow under her chin. "You taste so good."  

A  shiver twisted its way up Tery's spine at the kisses, then back down.  An  
exhilarating, electric feeling surged through her at the touches and  
brushes.  She felt her body respond to them even as Skyler whispered  against 
her.  
Her own hands had slowly begun to slide over Skyler's form,  tracing every 
curve of her, first down and then back up to her shoulders.   As Skyler slid 
her 
fingers along her back and found the zipper to her uniform,  Tery felt a 
momentary sense of propriety try to kick in, but she kicked it right  back out 
again.  She wanted this.  Her own fingers slid along slim  shoulders to find 
Skyler's uniform zipper as well.  Give and take, a  trading of touches and 
brushes.  
Her head tilted as Skyler moved to her  neck, allowing her more access.  "And 
you smell lovely... feel as  good..."  She whispered back.

Tracing her fingers along Tery's bare back Skyler  could feel every muscle 
twitch. Gently she removed the uniform top exposing her  shoulders. She moved 
to 
kiss the soft smooth skin. She ran her tongue along her  collar bone, tasting 
every bit of skin available. Moving back up to her lips  she  guided Tery to 
the couch and gently laid her down never letting her  lips leave the luscious 
skin. "Are you sure this is what you want? I don't want  you doing anything 
you don't want to do or feel obligated to do." I hope 
this is what she wants, I know I  want it....

Was she kidding!?  Tery  shivered at the touches of fingers and tongue along 
her neck and shoulder  blades.  Oh, yes, she wanted this!  She'd known it the 
second she  looked at the woman.  And then that kiss!  Hell yeah!   "Oh, 
yes... I do..."  She murmured as she willingly surrendered to the  woman's 
moving 
her to the couch.  Again that sense of propriety tried to  tell her this was 
wrong, but again, she was not listening.  She didn't care  what the others 
thought.  She ran fingers through Skyler's hair gently,  setting it free of any 
style that had been holding it captive.  "You are  beautiful... sensuous... and 
yes, I want this..."  She affirmed as she drew  Skyler down on top of her on 
the couch.  "But be sure you want it."   She tried to add.  Be sure you want 
the 
fall-out from it.   Tery'd dealt with worse than what Starfleet officers did 
or said in such  cases.  She didn't give a damn what anyone thought of her.  
But  somehow, even now, she was protecting Skyler.  But oh, Prophets, how she  
wanted this!  


"I know exactly what I want  and what I am getting into. " She gently removed 
Tery's uniform top and started  to explore her body. She ran her fingers 
through Tery's hair and she moved her  lips and tongue down her chest. Taking 
her 
breast in her mouth she traced around  her nipple with her tongue. Using her 
free hand she let it explore the rest of  her body. And what a body it was!!!  

"Good..."  Tery might have said more had  Skyler's lips and tongue not found 
one sensitive area and explored it so  gently.  A breath was taken sharply and 
held.  Was she dreaming?   Was this really happening?  Really possible?  
After all this time, was  she finally finding something special? She slid her 
hands down Skyler's back, taking the zipper down with  her in such a fashion as 
to 
cause the uniform to barely brush the other woman's  flesh as she moved it.  
Then those long, slender fingers traced their way  to Skyler's shoulders and 
over them, under the uniform, taking it down her arms  as the fingers slid 
thusly.She wanted to touch and kiss every inch of this lovely woman.  She  
wanted 
to explore and know each luscious bit of flesh.  "Then let no one  stand in 
our way..."  Tery murmured softly as she arched slightly into  Skyler's 
ministrations.

Pulling Tery closer Skyler felt their two bodies  join as one. Each reacting 
to the others touch. It had been so long since she  had felt anything like 
this. She slid her hands down Tery's body, her fingers  reaching the top of the 
woman's pants. She slid her hand under the waist band  feeling  softer luscious 
skin. She gently slid the pants down as her  fingers explored unknown 
regions. With her hand still in Tery's pants, she moved  back up her body 
exploring 
every inch with her mouth and tongue until  she  reached her lips. She kissed  
her gently at first and then with more passion. She gently pushed her tongue  
between her lips, gently running it over her teeth. Soon their tongues were  
mingling, almost fighting for attention. She could feel her heart pounding in  
her chest. I hope she knows what she is getting into by being with me...not  
just as her commanding officer, but as Skyler the person, a person she didn't  
even really know yet. Would she want to be with her in the future or was this 
a  one time 
thing? She needed to know for her own sake as well as Tavi's.  Right now all 
she could was think of the woman in her arms and the touch of her  skin.

Tery's body arched into the touches now,  wanting, needing more.  She knew 
she should stop this, should analyze it,  should get to know the woman better 
before going here.  But, somehow, she  couldn't stop now.  She didn't want to 
stop now.  So she invited more,  coaxed Skyler to more with her own brushes of 
hands, a sliding of one leg  against one of Skyler's.  And then the kiss, she 
played her tongue with  Skyler's, feeling the passion rise, feeling the heat 
rise with every beat of the  heart, every curl of tongues intertwining with one 
another.  Her own hands  slid down to relieve Skyler of more of her clothing.  
Tery knew what she  wanted, knew where she was going.  But did Skyler?  Did 
the Captain  know whom she was involving herself with truly?  Beyond the 
Dossier, beyond  the reports, beyond all of it until all that remained was the 
person  beneath.  Will you want this when you do know that person?  But  in 
truth, 
it did not matter at this stage.  All that mattered was this  moment, the 
pleasure, the passion, the desire.
 
Skyler could feel herself giving in to the moment. The hell with  
regulations. The only thing that mattered was the here and now. Letting her 
hand  wander 
further down Tery's body she could feel the heat  and wetness  between her 
legs. Both women were moving in unison trying to give the other what  they 
themselves wanted. Every touch was a new sensation, a new feeling. She knew  
that 
she could get in trouble for this but at the moment it didn't matter. All  that 
mattered was Tery's touch. They weren't hurting anyone and both were grown  
adults who knew what they wanted, no needed.
 
I hope you can tell that this is  what I want and I hope it is what you want, 
I don't know if I can let you walk  out of my life now.  Tery if you only 
knew or could sense how I felt. I  want to know all about you, Physically and 
as 
the beautiful woman you are. Is  that possible or are you just going to walk 
out the door never to return. I hope  not......
 
Just as Tery was about to cross over the precipice of  desire, Skyler pulled 
back and looked into her eyes. "Is this what you really  want or are you just 
letting me have my way? Is this just going to be a one  night fling or is 
there going to be more? I know this is wrong but I know we can  work something 
out 
if it is what you want. I need to know Tery. Where do you  want this to go?"


Tery  wanted to beg her not to stop, felt her body beg for it.  I need  you!  
Want you!  Don't stop now!  Her eyes came open and  locked with Skyler's.  
The words she was saying resonated with Tery's own  thoughts and feelings, and 
she smiled.  "Oh, yes, it is what I want.   I'd never have gone this far if I 
hadn't wanted this."  She slid her hand  through the other woman's hair and 
then back to where it had been softly  brushing her flesh.  "I don't do 
one-night 
stands, so there is  definitely more... at least that's my hope."  She 
answered, her voice husky  with passion but her eyes telling the Truth of those 
 
words. 

All it took for Skyler was to hear those words from Tery. "It is  my hope 
that there will be more, much more."  Pulling her closer Skyler resumed her  
explorations of Tery's body let her hand wander bringing her closer and closer  
to 
the edge. She kissed her deeply and fully. Experiencing feelings she hadn't  
felt in a long....long time. She held her tight as she felt herself  reaching 
that precipice, wanting to cross over together. God you are an  amazing woman 
Tery, I hope you can tell what I feel by my touches? I know I can  tell by 
yours.....
 
No words were necessary as Tery and Skyler reached that edge that  was an 
ecstasy so near insanity that it was an exhilarating rush.  She felt  her body t
remble as they came together toward that edge and hovered on its  edge.  I can 
feel your desire... your need.  I need you too,  Skyler.  Take me with you to 
the edge and  beyond!
 
Both  bodies were as one. Needing yet giving at the same time. Neither had 
felt  a desire as strong as this and within minutes they had reached the  
precipice and together fell over it as their desire and hunger for each other  
satiated. Feeling Tery's body tremble beneath hers, Skyler rolled to the side  
and 
held Tery close. "You are truly amazing."
 
Brushing the hair away  from Tery's face, Skyler looked into her grey eyes, 
seeing her own reflection  shining back at her. "I'm not sure where things are 
going to go from here. I do  know that I do not want to lose you. It won't be 
easy, but if you are willing to  trust me, I know we can work things out. Tell 
me what you want Tery. I want to  know everything." 
 
What did she want?  She wanted  this.  She wanted this amazing woman.  She  
wanted...
 
"Family..."  She whispered in answer.  She  had not really meant to say it, 
but lying here with this amazing woman, she felt  it stronger than she'd 
allowed herself since... well, since far too long.   But do you want this?  Do 
you 
want us to make a family?  Was  it even possible?
 
"Family? Do you realize how much I want a family? Someone to come  home to 
each night and wake up with every morning.  I want someone to love,  to take 
care of......to be with forever. What about children? Do you want  children?" 
Are 
you willing to accept Tavi as well as me in your  life...... 
 
They were on the same page!  Tery had  to smile, couldn't stop it really.  "I 
love children."  She answered  softly, reaching over to stroke through 
Skyler's hair gently.  "I  know that two women can't have children together, 
but..." 
 But  we could adopt, couldn't we?  "But... there's always other  ways... 
right?"
 
Skyler held Tery closer  and kissed the top of her head. Things were finally 
going to work out for her.  "Where there's a will, there's a way Tery. You are 
just going to have to trust  me. Can you do that?"  I am going to make this 
work.....I have to make  it work..... 
 
Trust.  That was not such an easy thing for her  anymore.  Too much history 
had taught her to be wary, careful.  But  she was already beyond the 'careful' 
stage in this one.  She nodded  and snuggled a bit closer to Skyler.  "I trust 
you."  She  answered softly.  Why do you ask that though?  Is there some  
catch here?  No, that was just the paranoid ex-Resistance in  her.  Bits of 
memory that refused to release their hold on her  mind.  "I trust you."  She 
reiterated  softly.
 
You're not the only one with trust issues.....How  do I make you realize that 
there is no catch, that this is real. It won't be  easy, in fact it will 
probably be very difficult and I don't want to  lose.....this in the  process...
 
"We will make this work Tery. It won't be easy but it can be done.  We will 
make it work." Skyler held Tery closer and felt herself  falling....... 
 
Tery held Skyler close.  "I  know."  How could it not work when they both 
wanted it so  much?  She stroked gentle fingers through Skyler's hair once 
more.  
 Then she simply lay there with the lovely woman.  Loving even this tiny  
moment of just... being with  her...
