<USS Avalon> "Bailey's Memoirs" Part 1 of Many

Bailey's Memoirs
By: Ensign Michael Bailey
(a continuous log, of Ensign Bailey's career as he views it)

Well, its 1900 hrs, and I just got off shift. By recommendation from
Commander Skyler, I looked into writing memoirs, a career-span logging of
my activities as a crewman on the U.S.S. Avalon from my own perspective.
I guess you can say an auto-biography but Im writing this little by
little as my career advances. You know, I look up to each and every
crewman I serve with. I have a deep, and ever-lasting respect for them.
Not one single member of the Avalon hasn't made it where they were today
by slacking off. Nobody handed their commendations or their promotions
handed to them. What can I say about my ship mates? Well lets see....

Captain Keith Ketchum-
Captain Ketchum is a loyal, but fair leader. He deserves every ounce of
respect that he receives as it is. I haven't known him long, but of what I
do know, is the Avalon is lucky to have him.

Commander Skyler -
Well...Commander Skyler, she is the Executive Officer of the Avalon and
definantly one of the kindest people. Although I have been secluded from
most of the ship due to my work in Security, I did stumble upon her
presence from time to time and there is not one harsh word I can say about
her.

Commander Javan Sierra -
Time to analyze my department head, the Chief of Security, Javan Sierra.
Well he and I had our troubles and our moments but I respect the guy. I
understand why he does what he does, and I know he did what he had to, to
get where he is. Nobody has worked harder, and more efficently than
Commander Sierra and he definantly earned his recent promotion.

Looking back now to my Academy years, I find myself in a position to name
a few professors who have made an impact on my career.

-Admiral Tasha Hanson (Chief of Astrometrics, Starfleet Academy)
Admiral Hanson has definantly taught me everything I know today about the
stars and their beauty. She always had a special nack of getting my
attention. Im not sure wether or not it is when she bent over very slowly
whenever she droped a PADD or when she use to drop a book on my foot when
I was asleep, but whatever it was, Admiral....it worked.

-Doctor Beverely Crusher, M.D. (Professor of Intermediate Medicine,
Starfleet Medical)
Well although she served briefly as a Professor for Starfleet Medical, she
deserves my respect for helping me learn the ropes of the trade when I
resigned from the Academy and joined Starfleet Medical. She knew just how
to get me to learn the right way and handle my assignments correctly.

-Grounds Keeper Boothby (Groundskeeper, Starfleet Academy)
When I re-entered Starfleet Academy, the first person I met was Boothby.
He was always great at giving advice, even though he had corny jokes and
was very rude at times to passing cadets who stepped in his garden. He was
a funny man, a great man, and he was the one who recommended me for the
Avalon post as he does have some pore with the Captain. He will forever be
missed.

If I have not mentioned you here, it means I haven't met you yet, but down
the road, you will be mentioned in these memoirs. You know, I have a duty
shift starting in five hours so I must get some sleep. I heard im going to
have a rigorous ordeal in the holodeck for some training with our beloved
Commander Javan Sierra. Better put on my disgruntled officer face. Hey we
got to keep up appearances right?
