Skyler picked up the walking pace a little. She wanted to get to
this place that Moreya had promised to take her. "How did you end up on the
Avalon? Not that I am complaining, I
am just curious how you go from CMO to counselor?"

Felicity paused, wanting to answer honestly but not in a tone that
would not seem insulting or offensive. "In a sentence, I was drafted."

"Drafted by our esteemed Captain or by Admiral Valdez?"

"I was asked by an Admiral Fitzgerald to transfer to the Avalon."

"I don't know how much you have heard about the Avalon, but she is a
good ship and you should feel honored to serve aboard her. I served aboard
the first Avalon before it was destroyed and then was on various other
assignments before being promoted to Cmdr and XO of this Avalon. Believe it or
not I
was CMO on the original Avalon."

She listened to what the Commander had to say about the Avalon
before replying. "I had heard you were the former Chief of Medicine. It is
good to
see that they promote from within on the ship."

Meanwhile, Moreya had been guiding all three of them toward a level
of the station one or two down from the main Promenade levels.

"Interesting. Can't say that I have ever heard of Admiral
Fitzgerald. I hope that you will enjoy your stay on the Avalon and working with
Dr
Moreya. She is a good doctor, even if she doesn't insist on physicals. But
beware,
she knows when they are due or if you don't report an injury she will let you
have it, otherwise I wouldn't have any other doctor take care of me."

With a smirk, Felicity nodded. "Physicals should be swift, painless
and guiltless. Otherwise, you'll never see any of the crew until they stub
their toes or something else silly."

"Uh Dr. Moreya, exactly where are we going?" Skyler had noticed that
they were going down a few levels from the main promenade.

Moreya simply said, "Trust me. My friend is a permanent resident
here but he does not operate an establishment in the usual sense." She had
quietly listened to the conversation between the two women, seeing no real need
to
be a part of it just yet.

Felicity too was wondering just where they were heading as it was
not any area she had explored during her time on the Station.

"I will warn you in advance there are some volatile personalities on
the ship, mine included I suppose," Skyler told Felicity.
"I hope you can handle them all"

"All ships have personalities, Commander. My job is just to listen.
 Nothing more, nothing less."

"There may come an occasion where you may have to break up a fight
or two. Even though we try not to let that happen, some personalities just
don't mix."

Felicity frowned at this prospective situation and simply nodded.
She had been prepared at the Academy and her subsequent training for such
instances. "I will be prepared. But I trust they will prefer
camaraderie to my discipline -- I doubt any of the crew would like to serve
out their time in the brig."

"Have you had met our esteemed Captain yet?"

With a shake of the head, Felicity acknowledged that she had not yet
met the Captain. "I am to rendezvous with either the Captain or yourself,
then to report to Security for a meeting with a Mr. Sierra
concerning my access codes and other such details."

"I hope that crew skirmishes are few and far between," she added.
"I would much rather see peaceful solutions to problems between the crew."

"True, I doubt they would like to serve their time in the brig, and
hopefully that won't happen. Well, if you wish you may go find the Captain --
it might be easier than locating Mr. Sierra. I believe the Captain remained
aboard the ship, and I know Mr. Sierra has left the ship and is somewhere on
the station."

With a nod, Felicity took in the information that the Commander
offered. "Thank you for the advice. I will in fact seek out the Captain. Oh,
I
was kidding about the brig. My sense of humor is odd at
times. My apologies."

"None needed," Skyler reassured her. "We all need a sense of humor.
Others are just
different from others."

"So where do you think we're going? This certainly seems off the
beaten track."

"I am not sure what or where we are going but I do trust Moreya. So
if she says it is a good place to go then it must be. I can't imagine her
going to some kind of dive or any place like that."

Moreya paused in front of a plain door. This appeared to be a
residential level of the station. "It is definitely not a dive," she said,
"and in
fact, here we are."
