Pulsar Danger
LT Snuffy

T'Pice & Snuffy have been sending type 3 through type 7 probes to the pulsar 
in the nebula for several days.  Each probe's signal shows that the pulsar is 
nearing the point of explosion.  This explosion would be a small nova!  


Snuffy:  Snuffy to Ketchum, Captain, could you come to the Science Lab.  
Snuffy to Skyler and Serria, please come to Science Lab also.

Ketchum: Snuffy, I am busy what is the problem?

Snuffy: Captain, that pulsar may nova any day now and the ship is in danger!

Ketchum: On my way.

Serria: On my way also.

Skyler: I will be there shortly.

Snuffy: T'Pice, lets get all the data from the last three probes ready asap!  
Computer, luanch three probes to the pulasr, types 5, 3, and 7 in that order!

Computer: luanching probes.....Type 5 luanched.....Type 3 luanched.....Type 7 
luanched.

T'Pice: Snuffy, I have also been scanning the other ship, I have narrowed 
that alien life form to deck 12, but can not get an exact location on deck 12.

Snuffy: that is fine, but lets get this pulsar data finished.  Computer, lock 
onto the creature and keep a log of its location, try to narrow the location 
to section of which deck it is on.

Computer:  Logging location of unknown life form.

Snuffy: Computer, display creature location on the left wall display.

The display turns on and the location in a gernal area of deck 12 is 
displayed.  T'Pice displays all data from the probes on the main display.  The 
data 
from the last three probes is displayed on the right wall's three displays.  
Ketchum, Skyler, & Serria all enter the Science Lab.

Ketchum:  Ok Snuffy, what is that pulsar doing?

Snuffy: On the main display, is the data from all probes except the three we 
just luanched, which are displayed on the right wall.

Serria walks over to the left wall and examines the display.

Serria: T'pice what is this?

T'Pice & Skyler walk to the left wall display.

T'pice: That is the creature on the other ship.  We have narrowed the search 
to specific decks, but not section.  The computer is tying to narrow the serch 
futher.

Ketchum is studing the data, and sees the danger.  

Ketchum: Ok, everyone what are our options in getting underway and tractoring 
the other ship with us?  I want options now!

Each officer in the room takes a science station and starts working on 
options. T'Pice reaches the plan first.

T'Pice: Captain, if we divert 12.8625% of Shields engery to the tractor 
beams, we could pull the other ship with us, but there is a 34.9987% chance 
that we 
may have to drop tractor beams to escape the explosion.

Ketchum: Anyone have a better idea?  {several seconds roll by} Ok then lets 
do it. Engering, divert 13% of shield energy to the tractor beams and lock onto 
that other ship! Helm, once the tractor beams lock on, set course away from 
the pulsar at best speed.

Waterson:  Aye sir, setting course.

Criswell: Locking tractors now, shields down 13%.

Waterson: Engaging full impulse, Now!

All in the Science Lab watch and study more data from the pulsar, Serria, 
also studies the creature from the other ship.  The computer is slowly 
narrowing 
the location of the creature, but it mat take several hours to pinpoint.  The 
Avalon slowly starts to pull to safety, but will they reach a safe zone in 
time?
