<USS Avalon> Avalon "Catching Up Part Two"

Part Two
This has been an eventful day for Karg and Kira. The relationship that began 
so quickly on DS9 has deepened. This time alone with Karg has removed any 
trace of doubt that Nerys might have had. She whispers, "Thank you Ben. He is a 
good man."

Karg had gone to the Captain's Cabin and from the distance we can hear, "Bunk 
beds?" This will never do. In ten minutes, Nerys joins him to see what he is 
up to. Karg has taken the mattresses from the bunks, replicated some larger 
sheets, arranged everything on the floor and added some candles and a cold 
bottle of Dom. Nerys kisses Karg and they spend some time in dreamy eyed 
contemplation.

Over dinner and the champagne, Nerys asks, How much longer till we get to 
your ship?
"About seven hours."
After some chitchat they decide what Kira will be doing on the Avalon if the 
Captain approves.

Later Karg muses, "You know, I look at you sitting there and your eyes seem 
to look right into me - sometimes it feels so unreal. I ask myself â??What 
could 
this incredible woman see in me?' And I wonder if this dream will be over 
soonâ??
."
"It is not a dream Karg. Touch me, I'm real and I love you." She takes his 
hand and places it on her chest. "Feel my heart beating. It beats a little 
quicker when you are near. I find myself smiling all the time and I can't ever 
remember feeling this way. It is your love that has filled me with so much 
joy." 
They kiss and she then takes him by the hand, "Now come to bed."

They wake an hour before arriving at the station, just enough time to get a 
docking assignment near the Avalon. As they get ready, Nerys is looking at 
Karg. "If you don't wipe that big grin off your face, everyone will know that 
something is up"
"I know it but every time I try not to grim I end up laughing."

In less than an hour they are on the ZR7 station have told the Docking Master 
to watch out for Ensign Smith. Several members of the Avalon crew are 
returning to their ship and they make note of Lt. Karg and an unknown woman 
walking 
toward the ship holding hands.

Finally, Karg is back on his ship. Stepping to the nearest Computer screen he 
says, "Computer, Lt. Karg is on board."
"Acknowledged."
Nerysâ?? turn, "Computer, list Commander Kira Nerys as a visiting officer."
"Acknowledged. Will you be needing quarters Commander?"
"Negative."

Karg taps his Com Badge, "Karg to Captain Ketchum."
Sarcastically, "Welcome back lieutenant."
"Thank you sir. We need to talk."
