<USS Avalon> Assignment Complete

Assignment Complete

by Senior Lieutenant Anthony Manson

The sensors confirmed it. The surveillance did as well. The records were
accounted for. And now it was time for deletion. The chip I placed into the Ops
console system was actually a new one, and had enough room to complete the task
of the old one I replaced. The codes, and every system function needed to
perform my...crime, would last for only one hour before the codes were erased
and the systems reverting back to it?s normal functions.

I left Ops, having detected a inner communications between a Lieutenant Snuffy
and Flubb. I had to be quick, if not I would have to change my entire plan. I
got out of the bridge and made my way to holodeck two where I had once again
put a time slot in for a "system experiment."

The trip was short and as I entered the holodeck. I tapped my combadge once,
"computer, status of codes in place at Ops console?"

"Codes functioning. All records have been deleted, running secondary
parameters."

"Establish site to site transport to Captain?s Flubb Office. Activate primary
objective two."

"Codes active."

"Energize."

With the energy pistol in one hand and three PADDs on the my other- both
gloved, my body was dissolved and reformed in Flubb?s quarters. The codes had
shut the lights off, and I already was aware of where he was. But something was
wrong. Flubb was laying on the table. And looking quite dead already. Shit.

"Computer, run scan on Flubb. Status of target."

"Scan complete, target is dead."

"Cause of death?"

"Multiple energy shots."

Shit, the job was already done for me. But what would that entail on the simple
fact that I was suppose to do it? And who the hell did this? I had to admit, I
was grateful, I didn?t need to kill a man simply on the hidden reasons of a
rogue faction.

That god damn thirty-one agent was clear about me killing Flubb. But not all
was lost. With the three PADDs in my gloved hand, I placed the PADDs on top of
the coffee table. There were some PADDs there, some security, some engineering,
and what looked to be Intel documents as well. At least I could implicate the
Rydyns. That should put some joy to Section 31. The other PADD, the one that
would get Wren?s attention was already where it should be after I activated the
chip the first time when I began monitoring deck two and the delegate himself.

"Computer, status of Quie and Wren."

"Rydyn Delegate Wren and Sub-Lieutenant Quie are on deck five."

Good. By the time they got back, security would question them. Now all I had to
do was give an alert to security to get here. No sense for the man to rot in
while the entire crew went about their duties.

"Computer, run intruder alert in Flubb?s quarters, and transport me to holodeck
two."

Seconds later I was in holodeck two.

"Computer, deactivate codes. Transfer all commands and functions to normal
Security and Operations routines. Has any sensors scanned the holodeck since
time of the first arrival in this room?"

"Negative, files have been deleted. Transfer of all normal primary and
secondary routines complete."

I got out of the holodeck. Duty calls.
