Answering for Karg

Skyler and Kira were both in Sickbay wondering what was going on with Karg. 
Both for different reasons. Skyler wanted to have a word with Kira as well as 
with Karg. Karg was going to have to answer for going AWOL and not just for 
going over to Capt. valQIS ship. There was still the matter of his little side 
trip to DS9 to discuss. 

Before Skyler had a chance to get a word in edge wise Kira approached her.

"Commander Skyler, May I have a word with you?"

"Yes, of course. Perhaps we should speak privately." Skyler and Kira adjourn 
to the nearest conference room. Skyler looks upset and rightly so. She thinks 
that now she will get the chance to at least have a talk with Kira, but 
apparently Kira has other plans.

Nerys has her back up. Karg was right and she wants Skyler to know it. "Look 
Commander, I know you must think that Karg is AWOL but he is not! He said that 
this had to be a covert OP."

"That's not going to fly Kira," Skyler was not happy at the way the 
conversation was starting off. She had the definite feeling that she was not 
going to 
get a word in edge wise and she was right.

"Let me finish please! Karg was certain that something or someone was killing 
the crew over there. If he had gone through channels and gotten an approved 
mission, Capt. Ketchum would have informed Capt. valQIS. Suppose the intruder 
or whoever had gained access to the Com System. Then he, she or it would be 
waiting for (what did he call it)? a noisy away team. If he snuck aboard he'd 
have the advantage of surprise. Besides . . ."

"Besides what?"

"The Covert OPS Chief is supposed to have some latitude in this area."

"The captain and I can keep a secret you know."

"I am aware of that, but Karg wanted to transport as soon as her shields were 
down. He said ‘People were dying over there!’ Karg has a very strong sense 
of duty to warriors risking their lives."

Skyler studies Nerys for a moment, "You are a very able advocate commander."

"Thank you but I don't disagree with him."

"Very well, I’ll take it into consideration - dismissed.":

Just a few feet away, a very strange thing happened. Karg arrived back in 
sick bay, without his Com Badge which, of course, set off the intruder alerts 
on 
the ship.
