Keith  Ketchum, Dora Fane, Skyler, & Phillipa Waterson - USS  Avalon 
Alarik  Sandulf, Oridian Starfire, & Siorus Isa - USS Horizon 
Keith  Ketchum sat on the shuttle as they headed towards the Avalon, they 
were still a  few hours away.  As he sat reading a  book, the comm beeped, 
indicating a High Level Top Secret message coming  in. 
"Computer,  authorize the playing of the message, Ketchum-Alpha-One." 
"Authorization  confirmed", replied the computer. 
Only a  voice spoke, "Admiral Ketchum, this is Vice-Admiral Collins, there 
has been an  explosion on Alpha Centauri B II, at Facility 18.  The entire 
complex has  been destroyed.  Within a five  minutes of a warp core test, over 
eleven hundred were killed.  It is best that you and the Avalon  return to the 
Terran System, and possibly with any other ships, which you can  recall by your 
orders.  This appears  that it may have been a possible terrorist attack.  
Return quickly", and  with that the communication closed. 
Ketchum  felt faint as he knew of the facility and had studied there in his 
youth.   
Dora  looked at the Admiral, "Sir, can we ask that they confirm that  again?" 
Ketchum  only replied, "That is a recorded message, Ms. Fane, but you might 
try to get  confirmation from other sources, though, if this was an attack, 
Starfleet may  not have wanted it announced to the entire quadrant, since the 
message came in  under the specific frequency."  
Dora  feels sick in her stomach and quickly goes over the list of people she 
knew to  be there, "Understood Admiral, I'll go thru some other sources I 
have."  Dora quickly accesses a comm unit and  puts in the data she has to 
bypass 
chains of  command. 
While  she is working, Ketchum walks to a console and pulls up current ship 
activity  for the fleet and their current locations.  Punching in a set of 
commands, he opens a channel the fleet on secure  channel Alpha-One.  
The  Horizon answered the hail, as well as the Avalon, among  others 
Lieutenant  Commander Oridian Starfire walked over to the communications 
console and pressed  the response button, "Secure Channel Captain, from Admiral 
Ketchum, and channel  Alpha-One. 
Lieutenant Siorus Isa also close at hand confirms, "I confirm,  Captain." 
Captain  Alarik Sandulf of the USS Horizon looked up, "Alpha One... that's 
the emergency  channel... start charting a course home... and put the Admiral 
on 
 screen." 
Oridian  Starfire nods and types in the commands, "On  screen." 
Lieutenant  Phillipa Waterson who had been subbing in the Ops position on the 
Avalon also  saw the communication coming in, "Captain Skyler to the bridge, 
Alpha One  transmission." 
Skyler  didn't even respond to the hail, but made her way quickly to the 
bridge, and  nodded to Phillipa to bring it onscreen. 
Admiral  Ketchum saw the various ships links come online, "Greetings 
Captains, today I  was alerted of an incident on Alpha Centauri B II, at the 
research 
facility  there. An explosion has leveled the entire warp test facility 
killing over  eleven hundred.  You and your ships  are being ordered back to 
the 
Terran System at top speed, where we will convene  with Federation Council and 
decide a plan of action.  The Warp Speed limit  is not in effect, per Starfleet 
Order 901.  Further information will be transmitted to your ships on the  
incident.  See you at Terran  System."  And before they could  question the 
order 
that was given, he closed the  comm. 
Captain  Alarik Sandulf turned to his bridge crew, "You heard the man... 
maximum warp to  Terra." 
Admiral  Ketchum looked at Dora, "Ms. Fane, plot a course to rendezvous with 
the Avalon-C  that will start them on the way to Terra, and send them the  
coordinates." 
Dora  Fane responded, "Understand Admiral Ketchum", plotting the course and 
sending  the info to the Avalon-C. 
Ketchum  prepares the text information of the incident and sends it also on a 
secure  channel to the same ships with additional information on what he has 
thus  far. 
On  the Horizon, Oridian Starfire places the information onto a PADD and 
brings it  to Captain Sandulf.  
On the Avalon,  Phillipa relayed the coordinates to Lyta for the rendezvous 
with the shuttle,  and also received the information and carried the PADD over 
to Captain  Skyler.
