<USS Avalon> "A Real Woman"

A Real Woman

by Jayden Cross and Vevay Davis

A sly, sweet smile crawled over Vevay's face as she sauntered down the
corridor to Eli's quarters. She loved her time with him almost as much as
her sessions with Soliel. One day she would use the Colonel's lessons to
break Eli, to make him hers and twist his will so completely that she'd own
him. The thought made her giggle.

With a delicate prod, she rang the chime and waited for his sweet face. What
fun! She was all tingly with anticipation.

"Hey, V," Jayden smiled at her friend standing in the door. "I didn't know
you were coming over... I'm not usually home this time of day."

Her smile froze but she kept it in place. "Oh, well, I dropped in on the off
chance. Just wanted to see how you're doing."

Jayden shrugged and moved inside, expecting Vevay to follow her. "Jameson
pissed me off again, so I took off for the day. Eli's out doing a little
observation research, so thought I could enjoy the quiet. How about you?"

"Oh, you know, Bryce is a dick. He's been waltzing about the place, throwing
his weight around and acting like a knob." Vevay shrugged and slumped down
onto the sofa. "I just wanted to see a friendly face." Waving Jayden over to
sit next to her, she added, "What did the ice-queen do this time?"

"Oh god, V, I don't know where to start." Jayden flopped down as well.
"Yesterday she gets some bug up her ass and invites me and Eli over for
dinner... and... I didn't want to take it. I was afraid, well, you know how
Elijah can be sometimes..."

"Boy do I. But he's a good man, deep down. You know that, don't you?" Vevay
leaned over and started stroking Jayden's cheek. "Poor honey, she really
rattled you, didn't she?"

"Yeah, of course dinner went badly and then she called me into her office
this morning, asking me how often he beat me and shit like that." Jayden
shook her head. "She told me I should leave him. Can you believe it?"

Gasping, Vevay cupped Jayden's chin in both hands. "How dare she? He would
never beat you, never. She just doesn't understand your relationship. It's
complicated, I know. I mean, you love him, don't you?"

"Of course I love him! He's always taken care of me. He's my husband for
god's sake! You know I love him, V."

"I do, I do." She leaned in and kissed Jayden on her forehead. "Your love
for each other is so very deep, I envy it sometimes." She forced a little
quiver into her voice, a crocodile tear marking its track down her cheek.

Jayden held out her arms for Vevay and the woman fell into her embrace.
"Don't cry, V. You're such a sweet girl. Real heart of gold, love. There
will be someone for you and you know it. Someone that treats you even better
than Eli treats me."

She sobbed. Damnit, but I'm good at times. "I get so lonely, you know?"

Jayden stroked her hair, "I know, honey, I know. But I'm here. You're the
best friend I have, V, you know that. I'm always here for you."

Sniffling, Vevay sat up. "As am I for you. I don't know what I'd do without
you, Jayden." She rubbed the salty ick from her eyes. "What are you going to
do about Jameson?"

Jayden reached out to wipe the tear from Vevay's cheek. "Nothing I can do
really. She can start talking to people, but Eli isn't doing anything to me
that she can prove, so she'll just have to fuck herself on her holier than
thou throne."

Vevay let a wicked grin spread over her face. "Want me to investigate her? I
can make all kinds of merry hell for her, you know."

"Tempting," Jayden smiled, "but you know I'm not that vindictive. I just
can't. I think she meant well."

"Ha! Bloody nosey busy-body. I hate people like that. Sticking their noses
into other people's business." Muttering some more, Vevay slouched to her
feet and moped over to the replicator. "Want anything?"

"No, I still have my water and -" she paused as the doors opened and Elijah
walked in. He took a look around the room. Jayden was afraid that she'd get
in trouble for Vevay being there, but he'd seemed to approve of her before.

"What are you doing home?" he asked, eyes narrowed at Jayden.

"I- I took the rest of the day off."

"Some dedication to your work you're always talking about, Jaydee. What?
Things get too hard today and you had to run home like a little girl?"

"Hey Eli, want a cofee?" Vevay waved, wiggling her fingers. "I just popped
in to see how Jay was doing, she was telling me all about her run-in with
the Ice Queen."

Jayden's eyes widened at Vevay's boldness. She wasn't going to tell him
about Jameson!

"Thank you, Vevay. At least someone in this room knows how to treat a man
when he comes home from work," Elijah looked at Jayden pointedly. He moved
to stand directly in front of his wife. "What did you do?" he asked harshly.

"I - nothing. N-nothing."

"Look at me when I'm talking to you!"

Jayden looked up, "She was asking questions about me and you. I told her to
fuck off." Her voice was quiet and apologetic.

Stupid bitch. Why can't she just act like a proper wife for five minutes?
Vevay replicated Eli's favourite coffee and handed it to him. "Don't be
angry. It's not her fault that her boss is a nosey, manipulative bitch that
doesn't know how to keep her nose out of where it's not wanted."

"Go back to work," Elijah commanded.

Jayden looked up with a question in her eyes, but stood and walked out the
door like he ordered. She knew better than to argue.

Elijah turned to Vevay and accepted the coffee. "Stupid girl tries my
patience," he sighed.

"Oh love," she said as she ran her fingers through his hair. "My poor, sweet
love. How was your day?"

Setting the coffee on the table, Elijah grabbed Vevay hard and kissed her
deeply, with need, probing his tongue inside her mouth while pulling her
close to him.

Dragging at the bottom edge of his top, she raked her fingers over his
exposed stomach. Finally, she let her need show as she mirrored his passion
move for move.

Finally, Elijah thought, a real woman.
