<USS Avalon> A Little Night Music

A Little Night Music
By Captain Keith Ketchum

Finally, the spheres had been delivered to Zeta Reticuli, and Commodore Fry
was greatly appreciative for completing the task. Javan had seemed to recover
quite well. Skyler was also recovering from her own injuries. The tension
between them, though, was thick.

Keith decided to take a little break after shoreleave and before they struck
out on their next mission and try to get some things done for his own
enjoyment. Shoreleave for the crew had seemed to be quite a success. And they
awaited their next mission orders, or to see if there were any before they
proceeded
out in the universe on their own.

He left his quarters in plain clothes, and headed down to deck six. Keith
walked directly into the holodeck, the yellow gridlines were apparent on the
walls. He waited until the door closed behind him and disappeared.

"Computer, load the Imperial Theatre from New York, circa 2000. Place me on
center stage. No audience. Add appropriate orchestra for rehearsal. I will
be practicing my normal part."

The room immediately changed, he was inside the large theatre, looking out
towards the empty seats. The orchestra was already tuning. Keith nodded to
the
conductor that he was ready for his rehearsal.

The music swelled as he began, "Do you hear the people sing, singing a song
of angry men, it is the music of a people who will not be slaves again. When
the beating of your heart echoes the beating of the drums, there is a life
about to start when tomorrow comes.

Will you join in our crusade; who will be strong and stand with me, beyond
the barricades is there a world we long to see. Then join in the fight that
will
give you the right to be free.

Do you hear the people sing, singing a song of angry men, it is the music of
a people who will not be..."

As he was about to continue, the comm rang through over the music, "Captain,
we are receiving a message, appears to be from the Allegiance."
