A Chat with  Dad

After Josh left the holodeck, Keith sat with Dawson and  they talked about 
things. 
"So, Keith, who was that." 
"That, is my Chief Engineer, and someone that is about to  get a promotion 
once he goes to the planet and stays there until I recall him to  the ship.  
From what I understand,  he lost his brother recently and has become a 
workaholic, not that he wasn't one  before, but more so now." 
"Ah, so you're trying to bring him out of his shell.  He was quiet.  Why not 
let your darling wife  try." 
"I was asked by a friend of his to not involve  her." 
"I see, I think", he smiled. 
"So, what else has been new?" 
"Well, I am running around the galaxy since, well, I can't  recall when, but 
trying to get back to Earth to rejoin the council."  He shook his head, "But I 
had this odd  dream last night that I was the Chairman.  Or rather I was the 
Supreme Council Chairman, and was in cahoots with the  Breen as they split and 
divided the Federation in two." 
"Interesting."  They talked about it, and the one that Keith had had also.  
Both dreams seemed odd.  
They continued to talk about Tess and John, and then  noticing the time, 
"Well, I better get back to the ship, so that I can give the  crew the recall 
notice, and we can get underway." 
"It was good seeing you, son." 
"Always the same, Dad.  Get back to council and be  safe." 
"You too." 
Together they walked from the holodeck and separate paths  once more.
