A Call to an Old Friend or a New Enemy - Part 2

"Welcome back aboard the USS Sutherland, Keith."

"I wish you would quit doing that."

"You never did like the intelligence game did you?"

Keith just glared.

"You should put in for space dock at Grayson One; they'll update the ship 
with the latest greatest gadgets and gizmos."

"I do not need the latest greatest gizmo.  My crew..."

But before he could finish the Marc had read his mind, "Members of your crew 
may be part of even more covert operations that just Starfleet Intelligence 
and authorized covert operations."

"I know you think this, but I will not have a witch-hunt on my ship.  Knowing 
you, you probably think that Skyler's a, what is it, a Section 31 agent."

"No, I don't think so, at least not yet, anyway", Marc smiled.

Keith just shook his head, "I suppose you even have an agent in your own 
crew, or all of your crew is clear from assumptions?"

"Yes, they are clear as a matter of fact.  I have investigated each 
thoroughly."

"But if they are a secret organization, how would you really know for sure?"

Marc just shook his head and handed a PADD to Keith, "This is from Admiral 
Valdez, for your eyes only, confirming the existence of Section 31, and some 
other information that you might want to see."

Keith took it and read carefully.  He finally sat, deflated.  "Ok, what do 
you want me to do?"

"Nothing, no changes, I am sure that the agent or agents will eventually make 
themselves known at some point.  When they do, that's when we'll worry about 
them.  Hopefully you and Skyler won't be dead by then."

Keith nodded.

"I will be in touch shortly to advise you on any other developments; I might 
even pay you a visit on the Avalon.  Oh, and don't be too hard on Mr. White 
Feather", Marc winked and with a touch of a button Keith was back in Skyler's 
office.

Keith stood and exited the office, with a little more knowledge that he had 
before.
