My last response won't fix your problem. 

So Craig's bookmarking idea is probably better.

Or you can simply cut the bits of the TOC you don't
want. You can update the page numbers of the the bits
you leave, but I think it won't update changes to the
heading text and, if you change the text, you'll end
up with errors.

Just follow Craig's sage advice.
