I recall a year or two ago, there was a lively debate on calculating
comparable contractor/employee rates. Here are two links that are quite
contradictory.
The first says an hourly rate of $50 is equivalent to a salary of $76k,
while the second indicates that it is closer to $40k. I guess it all
depends on your deductions/expenses (but accruing 15 days long service
leave/year does seem a little extreme).

I think I'll choose to use the apesma calculator one when requesting my
next pay rise.
