atw: Tips: WinHelp tricks

I can't recall if I've posted this tip before, but I think it's a doozy, so
here goes anyhow...

(This assumes that you can access the RTF file that gets compiled by
WinHelp. That's the case in RoboHelp, but I can't speak for XDK and others.)

If you sometimes modify WinHelp (.HLP) files, you might think that you can't
use table formatting such as cell borders and background colours. Well,
despite what WinHelp's documentation says, you _can_ format tables in your
project by using whatever Word formatting you like.

To do so, format the table as you wish in Word, cut it out, choose Paste
Special, and choose Microsoft Word Document Object. (Also clear "Float over
text" if that option is available.) To modify the table later, just
double-click it in Word.

Also, the following page presents several alternative ways of formatting
tables in WinHelp, as well as ways to password-protect Help systems (for
content that's on a _really_ "need-to-know" basis, I guess!)

Hope that helps,
