atw: TOC page number format prob in Word

Hi All:

A fruitless google see me turning to the austechies.

I have an odd problem with a Word 2002 doc sent to me by a user. Front
matter is page numbered in Roman, main body in Arabic. All is fine.

However, the TOC displays the front matter page numbers in Arabic. Update
TOC has no effect. Other documents I have with this system have a correctly
displayed TOC. Is there anything the user could have done to stuff up my
beautifull numbering?
