atw: SEC: UNCLASS RE: Pet hates

Great job there, Howard.  Thank you for the opportunity to join in.
 
My contribution is the triad of Latin interlopers: i.e., e.g. and via. 
They can always be replaced by English words, and never contribute
anything of their own to the sentence.  What's worse, their users - and
sometimes their proponents - tend to get confused between i.e. and e.g.
 
OK, they contribute some brevity.  Using i.e. instead of 'that is'
saves three keystrokes, but I don't see that as a redeeming argument.
 
The only amusement I get from them is the discomfort their users get at
the beginning of a sentence.
