atw: Read Me First on quote marks?

Hi,

A late afternoon query ... in hope ... 

My copy of Read Me First is either buried or has gone on a walkabout. 
Janice, if you're there, or if someone can tell me what RMF has to say 
about using single quotes? 
I can't see that we have much use for them in a fair bit of our 
doc/training, but I just want to check across as many references as 
possible for valid uses I haven't thought of ..
