None that I can quote directly, but Gloria Gery did quite a lot of 
research into those things back in the late 80s and into the 90s. We 
also found that when I was in the CBT biz, the fewer the words on any 
one screen, the higher retention rate.

I fell in love with Gloria in the early 90s when she described Windoze 
as "putting lipstick on a pig".
