Sonya.
I could go on about the unmandated move to VTR or the lack of consultation
on the psychology diploma but these and other issues are best taken
off-line.
If you have special knowledge about the move to VTR or current discussions
with ASTCNSW then I suggest some of these issues get sent to us by email or
get put into our newsletter etc. so that members can know what is going on.
Remember Sonya, the 'merging' of the ASTCs has been talked about for at
least six years that I know of so if it ever goes beyond a discussion, let
us all know. In the mean time, I'll let history be my guide.
BTW, I have always had a good relationship with VTR staff, and their
premises (and my garage) are better than the old place. Even so, in
principle, I agree with Christine on the VTR issue. If our perceptions are
wrong, please educate us and then change committee practices to disseminate
the information better in future (at least to me as I'm a member - sorry
Christine).
And Marcia, I know that the committee are volunteers and some work very hard
and have for many years. Some have even received professional rewards from
doing so. Even so, there is no need to chide us for not putting our hands up
as some of us have been burnt before and refuse to go through the
frustrations again while certain people are still around.
So we stay as members (just) but as members, we still maintain the right to
expect our committee to do the things we ask (within reason and as
appropriate) and advise us on current events. It is not a closed shop only
owned by the few who are on the committee, they are our representatives and
they should only be working for the paid up members.
Well, that my say for now and I'm going nowhere.
Regards,
Bruce Ashley
