atw: Re: speech recognition software

I'm acquainted with a young woman who became a quadriplegic three years
ago.  She is doing her honors year at university, maintains a highly
articular and vigorous blog, and she has part time work translating German
documents into English (and vice versa) for a local Jewish organization (she
translates one or two documents a week, I gather).

Naturally, she uses voice recognition software for all of this.  Her writing
is more articulate and error free than most people's, including her rants on
any number of political or trivial matters!

So, notwithstanding the consensus on this thread that voice recognition
software is a waste of time, I think the opinions must be based on lack of
knowledge.  I'm sure voice recognition has the normal problems and
frustrations of any application, but clearly there is another demographic
out there who would not be able to study, or work, or engage in many
recreational activities without it - obviously some of the apps work to a
very sophisticated level.
