I'm a little skeptical about using speech recognition software for our sort of work. Even if, like me, you're not a fast touch-typist, you're probably quite effective at entering and correcting text. > Enjoy up to 99% accuracy "Up to" 99% meaning "between 0 and" 99%. > Most people type about 40 words per minute but speak > more than 120 words per minute. Probably true, but does SR software work when you speak at more than 120 words per minute, or do you have to slow down your speech substantially (to less than 50 words per minute?) to enjoy the promised "up to 99% accuracy"? As a thought experiment, consider that you could make most of the same claims about another magical new technology: - Create and edit documents and spreadsheets by keyboard shortcuts - Quickly send email and instant messages by keyboard shortcuts - Quickly search the Web and your desktop by keyboard shortcuts - Format and correct text by keyboard shortcuts - Use a single keyboard shortcut to insert blocks of text or graphics, like your name, title, logo and signature ... and so on.
