As always, Michael is right. If you want tables, you
can't delete the cell marks. You can, however, always
convert the table to text, then replace your nominated
delimiters.
I reckon they should have a ^p-equivalent for cell
marks so we could do search and replace of 'whatever'
comes before a cell mark, where 'whatever' also
appears in the rest of the table text.
I would've found that useful on at least three
occasions over the past 15 years. :)

PS Brian, you're right that snopes shouldn't be used
as an authoritative reference, but it is a useful
onestop shop for email myths. And their research seems
more in-depth than most that comes with or follows
such emails. It's also a lot better than the research
of a lot of journos who publish such myths. I'm
wondering how you know they aren't scientists--was it
just the paucity of their research?
