Thanks. I have the same dilemma. People insist on writing "utilise" when
"use" is perfectly adequate. Or "congregate" when it is simpler to say
"meet".
PS I was just getting tired of the endless mouses discussion and this new
controversy and thought it was time to change the subject, if possible.
