atw: Re: image file formats - suggestions wanted

Hi Matthew, the most effective way to get clarity in your jpg files is =
to
save them in the graphic software you are using with the following =
settings:

Save them in the resolution you want (print or web or whatever)
Save them in the dimensions you want.

I create jpg and bitmap images using a canvas size identical to the end
dimensions I want. This means what you see at 100% in the =
drawing/graphic
software is what you will more or less get in the end product.

WMF files are very good, for re-sizing, but not so good for =
transparencies
or colour gradients. Jpg and png are very good, but dimensions and
resolution during the save as and initial creation are the answers to =
your
problems, and must be considered.

Subject: atw: image file formats - suggestions wanted

Hi all - I'm looking to optimize clarity but I also want to keep the
resulting PDF's file size as small as possible.

Clarity is the main issue, though.

I've rejected JPG in favour of BMP. PNG seems to have the same =
resolution as
BMP, though the file size is much smaller.

Can anyone suggest an alternative to BMP, and that gives greater =
clarity?
