atw: Re: image file formats - suggestions wanted

This is a screen shot made using SnagIt. I then add graphical elements
(numbers) and flatten the file before importing it into MS-Word (as BMP
currently).

The size of the PDF is less important than image clarity.

Since my original enquiry here, however, I'm told that MS-Word will
always lose image information. You can't control the output with MS-Word
in the same way you can, for example, with a proper DTP app.

In other words, a guy here thinks a product such as InDesign, for
example, would resolve this.

Hi Matthew,

Others will probably give you more detailed and better information =3D20
than I can. However, my experience has been that bitmaps are about the
=3D20
most memory intensive ways of storing images. It also depends on the =
=3D20
type of image: line drawings generally do well as tiffs, photos as =3D20
jpegs etc.

I look forward to others' responses.

Cheers,
Terry
