atw: Re: idl files [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

thes files are actually documented in Document X tool and it has some built in
features and the output generated is compiled html help. But the person who is
building these chapters has the source file in the (.idl) format.

I am just thinking of integrating all these files in the Robohelp for the
final version.

Not sure why you'd want to do this. As far as I know, RoboHelp can only
import a fairly limited range of file types - Word docs, PDFs, Framemaker
documents, existing help documents and graphics. If you're documenting a
system that uses the file types you mention and want to show the reader
what the files look like, why not include a screen capture? Or, if you
want to use the actual text and display it in your own format (e.g. in a
table), some screen capture software (e.g. SnagIt, Hypersnap) allows you
to capture the text from a screen region (using optical character
recognition), provided it's sufficiently readable. You could then paste
the captured text into RoboHelp and make it into a table or whatever.
