atw: Re: deep linking into a roboinfo document

There is a 'alink' tag that gives you the ability to stipulate exactly
what you want, um. Drunk and tipsy after running the gauntlet drive
home. I'll think about it and I think there is something in the
archives...

Subject: atw: deep linking into a roboinfo document

Hi,

If anyone knows about RoboInfo, could you please tell me if/how to
deep-link into a published document. Eg how to create a link on a
web page that takes me directly to a specific topic within a roboinfo
document.

Problem is roboinfo publishes online using frames. If I link to the
frameset I get the intro page every time; if I link to the topic I
get just that topic (not the surrounding frames).

I'd have thought this ability was a fundamental requirement for any
online publication (without it bang goes context-sensitivity). So
perplexed why I can't find anything online on how to do it. Several
unanswered questions on the macromedia forums so maybe it's not
possible. In which case my evaluation of this tool has reached a
negative conclusion and time to go look for something that works.

tia

Steve
