Also, Erisa (L) if you are trying to consistently and objectively
measure the "effectiveness of lint removal in washing machines"...

Put a measured amount of lint into a machine with a defined load of
mixed or individual fabrics, dry them in a tumble drier afterwards,
remove the lint from the filter and measure what has not been washed
away or captured in the washing machine lint filter (less the lint
created during the wash by the fabric itself.

You need a simple, repeatable and scientific approach.

Scanning the dark fluff that remains on a single white cloth after
washing, whilst sounding very technical, is just a silly and unscientific=
,
totally unrepresentative "Mark Twain exposed" approach to this.
