One of my many pet hates:
"basis" as in "on a daily basis", e.g. "The newsagent delivers The
Age on a daily basis." instead of "The newsagent delivers The Age daily."
Look for combinations with other periods of time (monthly, etc.) and
other phrases: "competes on an amateur basis" instead of "competes as
an amateur", etc.
Now that I have sensitised you, prepare to go mad: the forces of
darkness are on an ubiquitous basis.
I know! Let's start a thread and see if we can keep it going (a)
longing than "mouses" and (b) with more posts! They who die with the
most posts just die (no, not even win).
