This sounds like a great trick. However, I just tried it with a secure
PDF (one of my own!) using Acrobat Professional 9 and it didn't work. I opened the PDF, then went to File > Print and selected Adobe PDF as the
printer. I got this message in the process:

%%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%%
This PostScript file was created from an encrypted PDF file.
Redistilling encrypted PDF is not permitted.
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%

No PDF was created, secure or otherwise -- just this log file.

It's likely that Adobe have locked this down in more recent versions of
Acrobat. Unless there's another trick to printing it to PDF that I've
missed.

Rhonda,

I am working with 1997 files so maybe thats why the print option worked. But PDF Key Pro.app really does the trick at lightning speed. 100 locked files - select all, hit the unlock key and I was ready to make some coffee.......... done as I got up to go to the bean jar.
