I'm not a member of ASTC. I was a member of the US-based STC for about
12+ years, but let it lapse a few years ago.
I organised the catch-up drinks for a while after Rhonda left us but the
numbers dwindled. There was still some interest but there was never a
time and location that suited more than 3 people at once. The best
response was when I rebadged "TW get-together" as "I'm catching up with
Terry D in Leederville for a beer, join us if you like." That was the
one you came to, Bill. We should do that again.
Shauna McGee Kinney organised a couple of more work-focused talks. They
were good but again only a handful of people showed.

I agree. Given the very low numbers, a semi-formal session will probably
fail because some of the few people who might have gone won't be
interested in thatparticular subject. If it's just low-key drinks, we
can discuss TW issues, non-TW issues, young people today, world peace,
the footy, etc, as the mood takes us.
Location: I always thought the city was a tough sell for people
traveling by car because of traffic and parking issues. That's why I
liked Leederville or possibly South Perth as being central and fairly
easy to get to by car or train. But I'm working in the CBD at the moment
so if it's basically you, me and Terry again, a city pub would suit me
fine.
So how about Perth-based TWs? Any interest in joining us?
