atw: Re: atw:Acronyms Master tool

I thought this was a little unfriendly--perhaps, like many people, he has a separate throwaway e-mail address for use with mailing lists. Perhaps English is not his first language--you don't need to be a tech writer to write useful software.

Then, when I looked at the site, it did seem odd that the three testimonials from happy users are all in the same stilted English. I particularly liked the write-up from "Jane", who describes herself as "a technical writher". I'm sure we've all felt the same way.

It also seems odd that a free tool is being promoted quite aggressively. There's a classified ad on the techwr-l site, and Google returns dozens of hits with the same wording ("Acronyms Master Creates Acronims Table in your document. A unique SW tool.")

It's hard to know whether this is a genuine contribution to the community, in which case sorry Alex, or a Trojan Horse that will disgorge all sorts of horrendous spyware on your PC the first time you run it. I'm erring on the side of caution.
