Erisa,
I also buy quite a lot from Amazon. I almost always seek out the =
'second
hand' section and have never been disappointed in the quality of the =
books I
have purchased. However, these books are often sold by third parties =
through
Amazon, and some of those have limitations on where they will ship to. =20
Is this the case with your selection? Can you select another supplier
(within the Amazon list?)
Speaking of service, I ordered a book from one of these third party =
suppliers
on a Thursday. It was delivered to our local general store at Michelago =
the
following Tuesday. You don't get much better than that locally! As a
result, I also buy almost all of my technical books from them. Seems a =
shame
to send the money overseas, but I like to support efficient businesses.
I have also bought from Barnes and Noble, but the delivery time was much
closer to the quoted six weeks!
I don't always send my money overseas, though. There are quite a few
excellent on-line or delivery businesses in Australia that I deal with
regularly. However, it only takes one bad experience (slow delivery, =
poor
quality product) to make you look elsewhere next time.
Cheers,

Does anyone know how to get Amazon to send books to an Australian =
address?
I have one with a PO Box and one with an apartment number. Tried =
several
combinations and it still wont work. Probably doesnt like the area =
code.
