More like "Technical Wordhackandhater" at the moment.

That's how I feel about Word 10 (AKA 2002)!

Mumble, grumble.

Upgrade me to 2000, don't downgrade me to 2003.
(Something that I know works rather than something that
carries over so many 2002 "goodies".)

As I've just informed our Help Desk, who wanted to play
with lots more W2002 options and still keep the stinking
thing:

"Word 2000 is the last proven stable version of Word. I
am loathe to progress to the 2003 version as it will
almost certainly carry over some of the worst 2002 issues
(overt reformatting for MSIE 6 compliance) and 2002's
dreadfully cumbersome and unintuitive document loading /
new document creation sidebar interface, which is at best
confusing and at worst downright frustrating."

"Please don't even talk to me about trying to change and
keep Word 2002. I cannot guarantee the delivery of any
technical manuals for this project if I must persist with
grappling with what that application is doing to my work."

Otherwise they might as well finish the job properly and
install WinDoze ME - The Masochists' Edition.

Sheesh!
