Thanks so much for doing all this Warren! I'm sorry to say, but with the
best will in the world, I'm not sure I will be able to intelligently respond
by Friday.
However, in glancing through, my eye caught a reference to the STC and ASTC
amalgamation. I hope I saw it incorrectly. The only merger that we can
contemplate is ASTC NSW and Vic.  

The STC alternative would be for us to fold our tent and all our members
join the STC. It is a US organisation and is currently having a fight with
Intecom (the world umbrella organisation) which tries to encourage
individual countries to have their own organisations. Hence the push to
amalgamate the Australian societies. The STC wants everyone to join them.
May not be a bad idea, but we haven't even thought about that.

Depending who you talk to, but the STC Aust chapter is going the way of all
Aust-wide organisations. I'm not sure how long it will take to
self-destruct. (And that is purely my view. Please don't make it public.) 

Once again, good on you for doing this. Oh, who are the "including
internationally acclaimed specialists within their respective fields" ?
