atw: Re: Work in Tasmania

Mmmm... I've never done the wait-for-the-call type, I have done a few =
short
(2 weeks - 2 months) contracts though. The basic idea is -

- ring temp agency (Julia Ross are excellent in Brisbane, I think =
they've
changed name to Ross HD) and make appt
- go in and complete numerous forms and tests (typing, application
knowledge)
- talk to a consultant
- go home and wait for a phone call

One thing I liked about JR were the 'temp breakfasts' every weekday - =
dress
in corporate-wear, go into their office early in the morning, get a free
brekky and bottomless coffee, wait round and be first in line for =
emergency
temp calls.

Frankly, I couldn't take a permanent position in office admin. It'd =
bore me
to tears, or I'd have the place in an uproar by suggesting all sorts of
process improvements (my brain gets a little hyper when underexercised).

Thanks Naomi. I figured that office admin can be a good fall back, as =
you
say,=20
and it might be nice to have different responsibilities for a while, but =
I=20
hadn't really thought of the 'temping' aspect of it.

Temping could be interesting; get ready for work, don't get the call, =
relax
;-)

Cheers,

Geoff
