The numbering styles were initially set up "by hand" and then the 
macro created to reset them after people "fixed" them. And since 
we have thousands of people in offices world wide to help us "fix" 
the styles, using macros to reset them is a lot quicker than 
getting round to all the desks.

This is pretty much how I would suggest you do it if you don't go 
the extra step and anchor your outline list styles to a named list 
template.  You might find that it requires less fixing; but not 
necessarily that much.  As much as I'd like to say otherwise.
