atw: Re: Word Thinking = Stinking Linking.

Word has always used double backslashes for directory naming in fields.

So THAT's all it was? I thought it was mucking up the docs created from
your template too?

Glad to hear you're (relatively) unagitated again though. :) You're
welcome.

Found the solution.

Unlike describing the path of a normal file in the file
manager or at the command prompt, Word 2000 required
the use of double back slashes in the file path.

So:

{INCLUDEPICTURE C:\\PICS\\Logo.bmp" \* MERGEFORMAT \d}

works, whereas the traditional

{INCLUDEPICTURE C:\PICS\Logo.bmp" \* MERGEFORMAT \d}

does not.

Ah, Microsloth.  Consistently inconsistent!

Thanks to Deborah Cross, Donald Halley and Naomi
Kramer for pitching in.
