There are ways of making Word's "bullets and numbering" feature work
correctly, but they all seem to involve a great deal of hard work. At some
point (Word 97, I think), the "gallery" of bullets and numbering styles was
moved from templates to the Windows Registry. This was not a Good Thing. It
means those styles are machine-specific instead of document-specific.
