Deborah,
I seem to remember that the watermark option was within the Footer options,
not removed at Format.

It was a suitably indirect way to go about things.

It should be mentioned in my old Word reference books, so will research as
soon as ...
Is there a How To Watermark process in the online Help?

Older versions of word do watermarks differently - via the header. Open
the header, select the watermark and hit the delete key.
