atw: Re: Word 2003

I find that 2003 tends to mess up your templates with all sorts of wierd
junk. For e.g. if you use a bold or strong character style, Word in its
infinite wisdom is likely to create a style called 'Body Text + Bold 14pt'
or some such euphonious name which is an exact duplication of your style. 

Also, all the junk that is in the Normal template tends to find its way into
your docco as well. That wouldn't be such a problem I guess if I wasn't a
bit sloppy about applying formatting when I write business letters and so
forth. End result is that there are all sorts of 'body text + local
formatting' styles that appear out of nowhere and cruddle up my "real"
documents :-(

Lots of corporates are still using Office 97.  They've saved themselves
considerable bother by staying away from Word 2002, and probably saved
considerable expense as well.  The fact that Microsoft doesn't support
97 doesn't seem to bother anyone I've spoken to.
 
My wife installed 2003 on her laptop last weekend, but I haven't seen
it yet.  I've heard a few comments that suggest it's a real improvement
on 2002.  Is that so?  Anyone?
