atw: Re: Why are deleted files not in the recycle bin?

Hi Jill (N)

If we are talking Windows XP here...

1. Right click on the Recycle Bin icon.
2. Select Properties from the pop-up list that displays.
3. Check / revise your settings in the Global tab.

Note: If you are working in a standardized, locked down desktop
networked environment and you do not have local administrator
access rights, you may not be able to change these settings.

(At a recent site, I was on a PC that had its Recycle bin set to "Do not
move files to the Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted.",
which is no fun at all if you haven't been warned that this setting was in
place and the administrator didn't want to allow me to change it because
it was more convenient for Him. Oh joy!)

HTH.

I had a cleanup today and naturally cleaned up something I still want. Rather than do the work again can anyone throw light on why delete has stopped sending stuff to the delete box. it was working yesterday!!
