Yes there is. Old Koori word: Tellumbuggerem.

From "Death Sentence: The Decay of Public Language" (Don Watson, Random
House Australia,2003),
where it is up there with the likes of "In terms of, Commitment, Enhance, Fora,
Key, Strategic, Hopefully, Prioritise, Outcome,
Issue, Empower, Impact, Product, Going forwards, Input, Point in time,
Scenario, Market/Marketing".....
-------------------------------------
"Do, realise make happen, institute, put in train, create, give expression or
effect to, (As in: This offer is all part of
our strategy of continuous improvement we are committed to implementing.)
Exercise: Implement this in the original:
And God said unto Noah... implement thee an ark of gopher wood... And Noah
implemented three sons, Shem,
Ham and Japheth."
---------------------------------------------

From Word Net : Apply, utilise, employ, use..
-------------------------------------------------------

You might even consider just: "have".
Now +there's+ a word to toy with.... Otherwise known as the "drop everything,
we're doing all right as it is" approach...

Meanwhile, "different" might be better than alternate, given that "versions" is
plural. And the chances are, at any given
time (VM systems regardless) only one operating system is working for you at
any given time, you simply need.

"If you have a different version of the operating system."
