atw: Re: What do you call it???

Thanks Andrea, but the version I received from one of my colleague here=
 is
that in Australia, if it is fitted to the ceiling it is a GLOBE and if =
it
is fitted to the headlight of a car it is a BULB...

I'm from India and we speak and are taught British English, and persona=
lly,
I prefer BULB....the common usage for the word GLOBE would be for the o=
ne
that has the map of the world on it ? in Geography.

Thanks
Sheetal Laviena.

How many technical writers does it take to work out a standard wording =
for
'light bulb'.... :-) Just based on the jokes, I'd say go for 'light bul=
b'

If you were writing for an Australian audience, what do=3D =3D20you say=
 a light
bulb or a light globe?

Thanks
Sheetal Laviena.
