You could try stepping through the macro one statement at a time by pressing
F8 in the Code window. Hover your mouse over both sides of each assignment
statement to see the current and upcoming values of each property. Doing
that might give you a clue as to what's going wrong. (I can't see anything
wrong with the code.)

Another thing to try would be close down your PC and then restart, with only
Word running, as sometimes VBA can misbehave because of resource or memory
issues.
