I'm a capitalisation minimalist - I hate seeing them all over the place, and developers seem to just panic when they have to write anything that's not code, and they put caps in everywhere (kinda like the way those guys on the Footy Show say "myself" instead of "me" because the only thing they are sure about their grammar is that its probably not correct, so they overcompensate). I only put caps on proper nouns: "Establish an advisory panel to advise the steering committee and the project manager..." But: "Establish an advisory panel to advise the Cheese Steering Committee ..." (I'm going dairy-free at the moment... Can you tell?) -----Original Message----- From: Stevens, Garry [mailto:Garry.Stevens@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]=20 Sent: Friday, 10 October 2003 4:20 PM To: 'austechwriter@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: atw: Use of caps for titles etc Hi All: Are there any style suggestions for use of caps? For example: "Establish an Advisory Panel to advise the Steering Committee and the Project Manager on..." Wherever I go, people seem to think that English is German in its liberal use of capitalisation. Drives me nuts. But offhand I'm not aware of rules to either justify or denigrate the use of capital Letters for almost every Noun in a Sentence.
