It depends whether your copy of XP is OEM which means it stays with the
machine. That's why you have the 'un-moveable' sticker.
If you look at the End User Licence Agreement in Office 2007, you will
get the answer. In Word >HELP>ABOUT.. >VIEW END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT.

Donald
I do need to use both computers simultaneously. One to work on with XP
and 2007, and one to get screen captures of Vista from.
I actually do have a pretty good idea what I intend to do, as long as
our venerable lord and master, Microsoft, will allow me.
So let me rephrase from problems to questions:
1 Will Microsoft let me transfer my XP licence from
one machine to another and still run it legally with automatic upgrades
etc?
2 Will Microsoft let me run a single Office 2007
licence legally on the two machines?

If you don't need to use the computers simultaneously, you could
partition the hard drive and set up a dual boot machine. I think
Partition Magic will allow you to partition your current machine and
then you could install Vista on the second partition and not have the
trouble of re-configuring your existing machine.
BTW; This advice is of a general nature and you should seek the advice
of a professional...

Guys, basic question.
My old computer has XP and Office 2007 for which I own legal and
registered copies.
I am contemplating buying a new computer with much more grunt.
I need a copy of Vista but am not keen to work on Vista. SO
I want to put XP and Office 2007 on my new computer.
I want to put Vista and the same Office 2007 licence on my old computer.
There will never be more than one person working across the two
computers.
Will Microsoft let me do some or all of this?
Is this where "keys" come in.
Regards, Christine
