there is nothing wrong with my computer.

The suggestion that a slow running computer needs the operating system installed would not be my first guess. Defrag is usually the fix. I wasn't implying that your computer is at fault but fragging is just a normal condition of operation. I was just trying to stop that suggestion going any further in case someone else read it for gospel.

In my own case, I found that programs were just requiring more and more memory. I had also gained the erroneous impression that any Java desktop GUI app was slow. Well, an upgrade from 512 Mb ram to 2 Gb worked wonders.

Hope you track down your problem and let us all know the answer.

Regards,
Hedley
