Indeed it has.  People use it that way in daily conversation.  They
"google the term" or "do a google" or "google song titles" or whatever
and we hear it almost daily.  I'm sure I overheard a woman talking about
'googling her handbag' in a search for her train ticket last Friday.  I
cringed, but kept walking.
 
Google is a very aggressive firm, and they only have themselves to
thank if they lose control of that rather iconic name of theirs.  Maybe
they planned it that way.
 
I doubt that any of the mainstream dictionaries list 'google' or
'Google', but I'm confident you'll find it in a few jargon
dictionaries.
 
(Actually, the reason that uncapitalised Google annoys me has nothing
to do with verbing a proper noun.  It's because I never use Google.  I
prefer, and always use, Vivisimo.)
